Greetings from Jérôme Baufreton for 2026

Dear colleagues,

I wish you all a happy and prosperous 2026, both professionally and personally.

I have now been heading the Bordeaux Neurocampus department for four years, alongside Aude Panatier and Mathieu Wolff. The Bordeaux neuroscience community is so dynamic that these past four years have been a real source of satisfaction. This is particularly because, despite the difficulties, we keep on conducting research with passion.

When I look at our department, its development, and how it operates, one of the key points today is its consolidation. Since the beginning of 2026, each of the three members of the Bordeaux Neurocampus administrative team has had a permanent contract. After Arnaud Rodriguez, in charge of communications, and Julia Goncalves, in charge of scientific outreach, Marine Boussicault, administrative and financial manager, saw her position made permanent. Their professional stability is first and foremost a key to their personal fulfillment. And for Bordeaux Neurocampus, having a stable and solid team means being at your service every day, while looking even further ahead.

For 2026 and beyond, I can only hope that our individual and collective projects will continue. To this end, I welcome the continuation of the GPR BRAIN_2030 until 2029. The results of the first four years have demonstrated the program’s ability to attract new funding, which benefits all units. The GPR’s strategy enables it to fulfill the missions of Bordeaux Neurocampus, which are research, training, and innovation. In addition, the implementation of new cross-disciplinary areas in this second phase will enable the development of scientific fields such as neuro-oncology, neurodevelopment, neurogenetics, and aging.

In the spring, we will launch a survey about your perceptions and suggestions regarding our calls for projects, events, communications, etc. And since we want to hear from you, I strongly encourage you to respond to the survey on inclusion and gender equality launched by the Bordeaux Neurocampus Inclusion and Gender Equality Committee. This questionnaire is part of our collective efforts to ensure that Bordeaux Neurocampus embodies the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

On behalf of the management and the entire Bordeaux Neurocampus team, I would like to wish you once again a very happy new year in 2026.
