Junior Professor Position – Molecular and Cellular Neurosciences
The University of Bordeaux opens a Junior Professorship in Neuroscience. The position is part of the University research strategy that is structured around “Grands Programmes de Recherche” such as the GPR BRAIN_2030. The Bordeaux Neurocampus is made up of 800 international scientists who form one of the most attractive neuroscience communities in France and Europe.
The candidate will lead a research team at the Interdisciplinary Institute for Neurosciences and develop an ambitious research project to understand the molecular mechanisms underpinning brain cell communication in health and/or disease. The research project could, in particular, focus on understanding molecular complexes and their biophysics, cell dynamics in adaptive brain processes, lie at the intersection of different disciplines, be based on a strong technological development (e.g. microscopy), and/or an innovative animal model. An attractive starting package will enable the candidate to set up such as ambitious research project.
The candidate holds a PhD and has solid research experience (around 8-10 years after PhD). The candidate will be eligible to apply for a full professorship at the University of Bordeaux following the 4-year Junior Professorship. Candidates from France and abroad are encouraged to apply.
The Junior Professor will be part of the neuroscience teaching team and will participate in the teaching of the Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences and the Master’s degree in Neuroscience (64 h teaching per year in French and English). He/she should have teaching experience and a broad and solid knowledge of molecular and cellular neuroscience.
