BIC’s images of the month

Since February 2024, once a month, the Bordeaux Imaging Center has been showcasing an image produced by a user. Of course, there are images from neuroscience, but that’s not all!

A year and a half after the start of this initiative, here they are, all together!

In July, the Image of the Month award goes to Adèle Drouet of the MAP team (Mechanisms of Adaptive Processes in Brain Circuits) at IINS (UMR 5297). This image represents a neurosphere (150×150 µm) formed from dissociated hippocampal neurons cultured for 14 days under non-adhesive conditions. The team uses this model to investigate the role of the adhesion molecule neuroligin-1 in synapse formation, through knockdown or overexpression approaches. Neurons expressing shRNA-GFP (electroporated at DIV 0) are shown in yellow. Nuclei of all cells within the sphere are counterstained with DAPI (cyan).
