Post doctoral position in neurometabolism
We are seeking a highly motivated junior postdoctoral researcher to join the Energy Balance and Obesity research laboratory (http://www.neurocentre-magendie.fr/cota) at the INSERM U1215, Neurocentre Magendie in Bordeaux, France.
The research focus of the team is the study of the neurobiology of obesity and diabetes. The current project aims to shed light on the role of hypothalamic AgRP and POMC neurons in the regulation of whole-body metabolic flexibility and more specifically on the function of these neurons in learning, integrating and anticipating whole-body energy needs for survival and well-being.
The candidate will use specific genetic mouse models, stereotactic surgery and viral approaches, combined with in vivo behavioral and metabolic assessments, molecular biology and neuroanatomical analyses.
Candidates should have recently obtained a PhD in neuroscience/neurobiology/physiology/nutrition/or metabolism. Previous experience in the study of hypothalamic neuronal circuits in rodent models is preferred but not essential. Ability to work both independently and in a team is essential.
Preferred start date is September 2025. The initial contract will be for 1 year renewable, with possible extension to up to 4 years.
Candidates should send their CV, letter of motivation, list of publications and 2 letters of reference to Dr. Daniela Cota ().
