Pathological decision-making in addiction
Prise de décision pathologique dans l'addiction
Nos recherches s’attachent à identifier les déterminants environnementaux, psychologiques et neurobiologiques des différentes étapes et caractéristiques comportementales de l’addiction, incluant la transition vers l’addiction, les préférences individuelles pour la drogue, la perte de contrôle sur la consommation, le craving et la vulnérabilité à la rechute. Pour se faire, nous avons recours à un large éventail de méthodes et de procédures pertinentes, allant de procédures comportementales innovantes pour sonder des processus altérés par l’addiction (e.g., prise de décision, choix et attention), de l’enregistrement et la manipulation de l’activité neuronale in vivo dans des circuits spécifiques du rat vigile, aux approches transcriptomiques. Nous collaborons également à des projets de recherches cliniques, principalement en offrant nos conseils pour la conception d’études et/ou l’interprétation de données.
