Two articles highlighted by Nature Communications

Nature communications has published a page, “From brain to behaviour”, which is a selection of 20 articles published since January 2020. Among these articles, two of them are from our teams (one by the team de Schotten, one by team Groc and team Bezard with LP2N):

Brain disconnections link structural connectivity with function and behaviour
Brain disconnection after stroke leads to functional deficits whose anatomical basis is poorly understood. Here, based on a collection of stroke imaging, a database of neuroimaging meta-analysis, and high fidelity white matter mapping, the authors provide an atlas of human white matter function.

  • Authors: Michel Thiebaut de Schotten, Chris Foulon & Parashkev Nachev

Synucleinopathy alters nanoscale organization and diffusion in the brain extracellular space through hyaluronan remodeling
The nanoscale organisation of the brain extracellular space can be studied in vivo. Here, the authors investigate how it changes in response to α-synuclein pathology, and identify interactions between microglia and the extracellular matrix.

  • Authors: Federico N. Soria, Chiara Paviolo, Evelyne Doudnikoff, Marie-Laure Arotcarena, Antony Lee, Noémie Danné, Amit Kumar Mandal, Philippe Gosset, Benjamin Dehay, Laurent Groc, Laurent Cognet & Erwan Bezard

The aim of this page on Nature Communications is to provide a snapshot of some of the most exciting work on the brain published in Nature Communications. They cover a wide variety of areas and organisms, ranging from neurophysiological and neurodevelopmental studies in model organisms to systems neuroscience to cognitive neuroscience and psychology.
