Photoinitiated polymerisation is efficiently and rapidly carried out to
immobilise ultrathin electrochemiluminescent redox hydrogel films. Microscale
patterns are fabricated on an electrode surface by a simple photolithographic
procedure and revealed by ECL imaging.
