Symposium – « Research on the Biology and Diseases of Ageing in Bordeaux »

Tuesday 18 November

Venue: Amphi Louis, ISPED, Carreire campus, University of Bordeaux.

Life expectancy is increasing, yet ageing inevitably brings a higher risk of various illnesses, including cancer, cardiovascular diseases, neurodegenerative disorders, metabolic conditions, and infections. Several research teams at the University of Bordeaux are dedicated to better understanding the mechanisms behind these age-related comorbidities and exploring strategies to prevent or treat them. Their ultimate goal is to slow the effects of ageing and enhance the quality of life for older adults.

Building on the successes of the 2023 and 2024 symposiums, the Bordeaux ageing research community is organizing its third symposium this year. This event will foster the exchange of scientific knowledge, keep the community informed about the latest advances, and promote interdisciplinary collaboration.

Everyone is most welcome to attend this event.

Organizing committee: Nora Abrous, Hélène Amieva, Victor Appay, Isabelle Bourdel-Marchasson, Gwenaëlle Catheline, Julie Dechanet Merville, Alain Pierre Gadeau, Catherine Helmer, Maël Lemoine, Olivier Mansier, Isabelle Pellegrin, Hamid-Reza Rezvani, Claire Roubaud, Virginie Postal, Muriel Priault, Katie Sawai, Pierre Soubeyran.
