Assistant Engineer (M/F) in histology

The « Endocannabinoids & NeuroAdaptation » team at Neurocentre Magendie is hiring.

The qualifications sought for this position correspond to those of an Assistant Engineer in Neurobiology. The mission of the engineer will be to participate in projects funded by different agencies (ANR, FRM, Europe) to understand how the endocannabinoid system regulates specific brain functions through different cell types (neurones, astrocytes). These functions range from memory, reward motivation, feeding, stress adaptation, to higher order associations.

The candidate will be involved in all of the projects and will conduct histology analyses. The work will require the use of cellular and molecular approaches, among others. These mainly include perfusions, brain sectioning, immunohistochemistry and molecular biology. The candidate is also expected to contribute to experimental reports. Besides these experimental duties, the candidate will also help in managing the laboratory, including through budget-related issues.

Desired prerequisites: Master in Biology. Spoken and written French and English. Level 1 animal experimentation certification is a plus.
