Post-doc position in the team Synaptic Circuits of Memory

Topic: Properties and plasticity of hippocampal circuits involved in encoding new memories.

Main methods: In vivo and ex vivo electrophysiology, 2-Photon imaging, genetically-encoded approaches for interacting with brain circuits, behaviour.

A post-doctoral position is open in the group of Christophe Mulle at the Interdisciplinary Institute for Neuroscience at the Bordeaux Neurocampus. The project deals with an integrated study of the cellular and physiological consequences of presynaptic plasticity in a memory related circuit. The project involves gene manipulation to selectively modify presynaptic plasticity in hippocampal circuits. The downstream network function will be studied using electrophysiology ex vivo and in vivo, combined with two-photon imaging methods, and possibly behavioural approaches.  The ideal candidate should have recently obtained a PhD in neuroscience. Knowledge in electrophysiology methods, behaviour and/or neurocomputation would be an asset.

Starting date: ideally mid-2020.

Applications should include a detailed CV with publication list, a brief statement of research experience and interests and at least two references to Christophe Mulle ().
