Il\u00a0explore la stimulation du syst\u00e8me nerveux pour restaurer des fonctions neurologiques alt\u00e9r\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p>La m\u00e9daille de bronze du CNRS r\u00e9compense les premiers travaux consacrant des chercheurs et chercheuses. Cette distinction repr\u00e9sente un encouragement du CNRS \u00e0 poursuivre des recherches bien engag\u00e9es et d\u00e9j\u00e0 f\u00e9condes.<\/p>\n<h3>A propos<\/h3>\n<p>Apr\u00e8s cinq ans en Suisse \u00e0 concevoir des neuroproth\u00e8ses redonnant la marche \u00e0 des patients paralys\u00e9s, il se demande si les m\u00eames techniques pourraient agir sur la m\u00e9moire. En rejoignant le CNRS en 2022, il lance le projet MEMOPROSTHETICS financ\u00e9 par une ERC Starting Grant. Mais l&#8217;analogie avec la motricit\u00e9 montre vite ses limites : stimuler l&#8217;hippocampe ne renforce pas la m\u00e9moire \u2014 cela peut la d\u00e9grader. Ce r\u00e9sultat inattendu r\u00e9oriente ses travaux vers une question plus fondamentale : que fait r\u00e9ellement la stimulation aux r\u00e9seaux neuronaux ? Son \u00e9quipe croise \u00e9lectrophysiologie, imagerie et mod\u00e9lisation, chez le primate et chez des patients atteints de la maladie des petits vaisseaux c\u00e9r\u00e9braux. En parall\u00e8le, il d\u00e9veloppe des approches non invasives pour restaurer les mouvements du membre sup\u00e9rieur chez des patients t\u00e9trapl\u00e9giques ou post-AVC.
