L\u2019addiction peut \u00eatre conceptualis\u00e9e comme une pr\u00e9f\u00e9rence pour la drogue au d\u00e9triment d\u2019autres activit\u00e9s et malgr\u00e9 les cons\u00e9quences n\u00e9gatives associ\u00e9es. Les m\u00e9canismes neurobiologiques \u00e0 l\u2019origine de cette pr\u00e9f\u00e9rence pour la coca\u00efne chez les individus vuln\u00e9rables restent encore tr\u00e8s mal connus. Dans cette \u00e9tude, nous avons identifi\u00e9 au sein du cortex orbitofrontal (OFC) &#8211; une r\u00e9gion pr\u00e9frontale impliqu\u00e9e dans les processus de d\u00e9cision et de choix &#8211; un m\u00e9canisme qui pourrait expliquer cette pr\u00e9f\u00e9rence. Nous avons r\u00e9alis\u00e9 des enregistrements \u00e9lectrophysiologiques in vivo de l&#8217;OFC chez des rats entra\u00een\u00e9s \u00e0 choisir entre prendre une dose intraveineuse de coca\u00efne ou consommer une boisson \u00e9dulcor\u00e9e. Face \u00e0 ce choix, seule une minorit\u00e9 de rats d\u00e9veloppe une pr\u00e9f\u00e9rence pour la prise de coca\u00efne.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"fr\">Nos r\u00e9sultats \u00e9lectrophysiologiques montrent que cette pr\u00e9f\u00e9rence est d\u00e9termin\u00e9e par la taille relative de la population neuronale qui repr\u00e9sente ce comportement dans l\u2019OFC : plus cette taille est large par rapport \u00e0 la population neuronale codant l\u2019autre option, plus la pr\u00e9f\u00e9rence pour le comportement de prise de coca\u00efne est forte. Selon notre hypoth\u00e8se g\u00e9n\u00e9rale, une plus grande taille conf\u00e9rerait \u00e0 la population neuronale codant la prise de coca\u00efne un avantage s\u00e9lectif pour gagner la comp\u00e9tition qui l\u2019oppose aux autres populations neuronales au moment du choix, expliquant ainsi la pr\u00e9f\u00e9rence pour la drogue chez les individus vuln\u00e9rables.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Preference for Cocaine is Represented in the Orbitofrontal Cortex by an Increased Proportion of Cocaine Use-Coding Neurons,\u00a0Karine Guillem, Serge H.
