{"id":189753,"date":"2025-11-14T10:10:24","date_gmt":"2025-11-14T09:10:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bordeaux-neurocampus.fr\/engineer\/"},"modified":"2025-11-14T10:15:51","modified_gmt":"2025-11-14T09:15:51","slug":"engineer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bordeaux-neurocampus.fr\/en\/engineer\/","title":{"rendered":"Engineer position"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>Interdisciplinary Institute for Neuroscience <\/strong>of the <strong>Bordeaux Neurocampus Department<\/strong> is a research center committed to exploring synaptic and circuit mechanisms of brain function in physiological and in pathological conditions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lisa Roux<\/strong> is looking for an <strong>Engineer (f\/m\/d) <\/strong>to work on a <strong>collaborative<\/strong> <strong>project <\/strong>funded by the French National Research Agency on the <strong>role basal forebrain inputs on piriform cortex physiology<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The project is based on <strong>in vivo<\/strong> <strong>electrophysiological experiments<\/strong><strong> in mice, in combination with optogenetic <\/strong>stimulations and chemogenetic manipulations in olfactory task and spatial navigation tasks. The engineer will perform a diversity of activities, including behavioral training, cerebral implantations, implant fabrication and will contribute to the general organization of the team.<\/p>\n<p>The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Lisa Roux and Evan Harrell in collaboration with the rest of the team.<\/p>\n<p>The position is available from January 2026 for an initial period of 10 months (renewable).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Regulatory training for animal experimentation (at minimum: operator level)<\/li>\n<li>Prior experience with rodent behavior and stereotaxic surgeries is a strong asset.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborative mindset, good communication skills (including in English)<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organizational skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently<\/li>\n<li>Ability to report experiments\/results and rigorously follow an experimental protocol<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>We offer<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent scientific infrastructure with state-of-the-art research facilities.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborative environment within the team, the IINS, and through the ANR project<\/li>\n<li>Scientific training and individual mentoring, as well as additional support for structured career development via the CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) and the Bordeaux Neurocampus department.<\/li>\n<li>Employment, salary and social benefits are determined by the CNRS.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Application<\/h3>\n<p>Application must contain a short cover letter stating your motivation and research interests and a CV (with references).<\/p>\n<p>Please submit your application to Lisa Roux (lisa.rouxATcnrs.fr).
