Leurs mutations peuvent provoquer entre autres de nombreuses malformations, des pertes d\u2019audition, et des dysfonctionnements du syst\u00e8me nerveux comme de l\u2019autisme ou de l\u2019\u00e9pilepsie\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Des \u00e9tudes sont r\u00e9alis\u00e9es dans l&#8217;espoir de pouvoir corriger, un jour, les troubles engendr\u00e9s dans ces pathologies soit \u00e0 l\u2019aide de m\u00e9dicaments soit en corrigeant g\u00e9n\u00e9tiquement les cellules.<\/p>\n<p>Afin de visualiser l\u2019effet des changements de ces prot\u00e9ines sur les neurones, les scientifiques cultivent des cellules neuronales de rat et les modifient g\u00e9n\u00e9tiquement. \u00c0 l&#8217;aide de la microscopie \u00e0 fluorescence, ils ont la possibilit\u00e9 d&#8217;observer l&#8217;effet d&#8217;une modification de ces prot\u00e9ines sur les diff\u00e9rentes structures du neurone.<\/p>\n<p>Sur cette image de neurones d&#8217;hippocampe de rat \u00e0 17 jours de culture, on observe les noyaux des neurones en bleu, le d\u00e9but de l\u2019axone en vert intense et le lieu de connexion avec d\u2019autres neurones en blanc.
