In 2024, the committee adopted a new name Neurocampus Parity and Inclusion Committee to reflect a broader and more inclusive vision.

The committee’s first major initiative was the 2022 survey on gender equality and discrimination, led by Sandrine Cremona (IMN). Adapted from the RESET 5 consortium and fully RGPD compliant, the survey was completed by over a quarter of the Bordeaux Neurocampus community, 64% of whom identified as women. A detailed analysis of the results is available on the Neurocampus website in both French and English. The committee is currently planning a national follow up survey for 2027.

Thanks to the ongoing support of the Bordeaux Neurocampus Department, the committee has also been involved in several other initiatives:

Women’s Voices series in collaboration with Brainstorm

Marian Diamond Award for outstanding female postdoctoral researchers

Extended February PhD Seminar for the International Day for Women and Girls in Science

Advocating for inclusion-focused content at the 2025 Bordeaux Neurocampus Day

Gender & Research training courses

Participation in national journal club on equality, bias, and discrimination

The CNRS funding will allow NeuroPIC to continue and expand these efforts. A short Needs Assessment survey has recently been circulated to gather community input and help us shape our next steps.

In September 2025, the committee transitioned to a new leadership: Anna Beyeler (Neurocentre Magendie) will take over from Shauna Parkes (INCIA) as the committee’s Chair, and Enrica Montalban (NutriNeuro) has been appointed Vice-Chair.

NeuroPIC is a collective effort, built by and for the Bordeaux Neurocampus community.
