This image represents a neurosphere (150\u00d7150 \u00b5m) formed from dissociated hippocampal neurons cultured for 14 days under non-adhesive conditions. The team uses this model to investigate the role of the adhesion molecule neuroligin-1 in synapse formation, through knockdown or overexpression approaches. Neurons expressing shRNA-GFP (electroporated at DIV 0) are shown in yellow.
