{"id":183772,"date":"2025-05-12T11:25:17","date_gmt":"2025-05-12T09:25:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bordeaux-neurocampus.fr\/research-assistant-engineer-mulle-mai2025\/"},"modified":"2025-05-12T11:25:17","modified_gmt":"2025-05-12T09:25:17","slug":"research-assistant-engineer-mulle-mai2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bordeaux-neurocampus.fr\/en\/research-assistant-engineer-mulle-mai2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Research Assistant \u2013 Engineer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>Interdisciplinary Institute for Neuroscience <\/strong>of the <strong>Bordeaux Neurocampus Department<\/strong> is a world-leading internationally oriented neuroscience research center committed to exploring synaptic and circuit mechanisms of brain function in physiological and in pathological conditions. <strong>Christophe Mulle<\/strong> is looking for a <strong>Research Assistant \u2013 Engineer (f\/m\/d) with a PhD in Neuroscience <\/strong>to work on a <strong>collaborative<\/strong> <strong>project <\/strong>funded by the French National Research Agency on the <strong>role of PLCG2, emerging as a major genetic risk factor for Alzheimer\u2019s disease<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The project is based on <strong>electrophysiological experiments<\/strong> in slices, in combination with cellular imaging and optogenetic stimulations in control mice as well as in <strong>mouse models of Alzheimer\u2019s disease<\/strong>. The successful candidate will work independently on his\/her project under the supervision of Christophe Mulle. She\/he will be supported in her\/his project by a staff research assistant, in aspects related to viral vectors and novel gene targeting constructs.<\/p>\n<p>The position is available from October 2025 for an initial period of two years.<\/p>\n<p>More information on the research group led by Mario Carta can be found at https:\/\/www.iins.u-bordeaux.fr.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>PhD in neuroscience (or in the final stages of submitting the thesis).<\/li>\n<li>Prior experience with slice electrophysiology techniques is a strong asset.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborative mindset, good communication skills and language proficiency in English<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>We offer<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent scientific infrastructure with state-of-the-art research facilities.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborative environment within the team and through the ANR project, with a strong focus on science and research.<\/li>\n<li>Extensive scientific training and individual mentoring, as well as additional support for structured career development via the CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) and the Bordeaux Neurocampus department.<\/li>\n<li>Opportunities to engage in mentoring, and in participating in the Cajal Advanced Neuroscience training activities at the Bordeaux School of Neuroscience.<\/li>\n<li>Employment, salary and social benefits are determined by the CNRS.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are looking forward to your application consisting of a short cover letter stating your motivation and research interests, a CV as well as two references.
