Postdoctoral Position available in Neurodegeneration
A two years postdoctoral position is available for a highly motivated Ph.D to work on the role of the lysosomal ATPase ATP13A2 in neurodegeneration and autophagy in a new animal model of Parkinson disease (PD). This new animal model will be characterized in depth and will ultimately bring new insights into the pathogenesis of PD and related synucleinopathies, and will be a powerful tool for testing therapeutic approaches.
The project will be implemented at the Laboratoire de Neurosciences Expérimentales et Cliniques-LNEC INSERM U1084, University of Poitiers, France and at the Institute of Neurodegenerative Diseases (IMN).
Both PIs will provide a core resource of specialized, complementary and experienced methodologies. Dr. Fernagut will manage the behavioural assessments and Dr. Dehay will manage the brain anatomo-pathology.
Candidates with a PhD in neuroscience or in physiology obtained during the past two years and with experience in the fields of animal surgery and behavior, neurodegeneration and post-mortem processing of brain tissues (not mandatory) are encouraged to apply. The position is for a duration of 2 years and available starting on January 1st, 2020 (the salary is in accordance with University guidelines).
