SUMMARY:Friday seminar - Philippe Séguéla
DESCRIPTION:Venue: Centre Broca \n\nPhilippe Séguéla \nDepartment of Neurology & Neurosurgery\nMontreal Neurological Institute-Hospital\nAlan Edwards Centre for Research on Pain\nMcGill University – Canada \nhttps://seguela-lab.org/ \nInvited by Eric Boué-Grabot (IMN) \nTitle\nIon channels in pain circuits: from DRG to ACC.\nSummary\nPr. Séguéla (McGill University) will present the properties of a first-in-class selective blocker of peripheral ASICs (acid-sensing ion channels) as a novel non-invasive therapeutic option for the treatment of inflammatory pain. Also\, investigating cellular and molecular mechanisms of the top-down regulation of pain in healthy and pathological chronic conditions\, he will show recent data on the key role of dopamine signaling in anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) circuits in controlling the perception of pain and analgesia.\n
