The recent explosion in the field of genetically encoded tools to control and measure neuronal activity has greatly facilitated investigation of brain function\, ranging from single synapses to large-scale circuits. Both control and readout of neuronal activity can now be achieved over orders of magnitude in space and time\, ranging from micrometers to entire brain regions and from milliseconds to days. \nThis course will provide participants with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience using the latest genetically encoded tools and state-of-the-art equipment for brain circuit investigation. A particular focus will lie on multiplexed manipulations and read-out of brain circuits. Participants will be familiarized with the biophysical principles behind the sensors and actuators\, and given training complementary to their background in the technical aspects of experimental approaches. \nHands-on experiments will employ optogenetic and chemogenetic actuators\, including excitatory and inhibitory ion channels\, pumps\, enzymes and G-protein coupled receptors. These actuators will be complemented by genetically encoded indicators of neural activity\, including calcium and voltage indicators as well as indicators for neurotransmitters and neuromodulators such as glutamate\, dopamine and norepinephrine. \nThe course will cover a wide range of experimental systems with an emphasis on functional brain circuits in vivo. SUMMARY:4th symposium of the network on monocytes - macrophages - microglia
DESCRIPTION:En semi-présentiel.\n \n\nDepuis son lancement en 2017 à Montpellier\, le SoMM (Symposium of the Occitanie Network on Monocytes-Macrophages) réunit chaque année une centaine d’acteurs académiques et privés autour d’un axe commun d’intérêt focalisé sur les Monocytes/Macrophages/Microglies afin de créer du lien\, de promouvoir les échanges de compétences et de développer de nouvelles collaborations autour de cet axe spécifique. Impliqués dans l’homéostasie tissulaire et la réponse inflammatoire physiologique et pathologique\, les Monocytes/Macrophages/Microglies sont présents dans toutes les pathologies humaines et représentent une cible intéressante en clinique\, en tant que marqueurs diagnostiques\, éventuellement pronostiques de sévérité\, et pour l’évaluation des thérapies innovantes\, mais aussi en tant que cibles thérapeutiques. Différents domaines de la biologie de ces cellules sont balayés lors de cette journée de conférence\, notamment parmi ceux représentés au sein des instituts de recherche du Club macrophage de la région Occitanie élargi à Bordeaux\, Marseille et Nice. Ainsi est abordé leur rôle dans l’homéostasie tissulaire\, dans l’inflammation et sa résolution\, dans la régénération tissulaire mais aussi dans les neuropathies et les maladies métaboliques\, infectieuses\, autoimmunes\, ou dans les cancers\, chez l’homme mais aussi dans des modèles expérimentaux variés. Les participants à ce symposium sont des acteurs nationaux et internationaux du domaine\, à travers l’invitation d’orateurs étrangers de prestige mais aussi de par la présence de nombreux étudiants et chercheurs étrangers en mission dans nos laboratoires et universités\, pour une ouverture plus large aux partenaires extérieurs.
