SUMMARY:Symposium "neuroGPCR: G protein coupled receptor signaling in its physiological cellular context"
DESCRIPTION:Venue: Centre Broca Nouvelle-Aquitaine \n\nOrganised par : \n\nSilvia Sposini (Imperial College London / IINS)\nDavid Perrais (IINS)\n\nAbout the symposium\nG protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) are the largest family of membrane receptors in humans. They control almost every physiological process and are among the most important targets of approved drugs.\nFor years\, the prevailing view has been that GPCRs located at the plasma membrane transduce signals from the extracellular to the intracellular space. However\, evidence collected over the past decade has shown that GPCRs signal from various intracellular compartments to generate distinct cellular and physiological responses. This symposium will cover the recent advances on GPCR trafficking and signalling using the latest cellular and molecular tools\, with a strong focus on GPCR action in their native environment\, including the nervous and reproductive systems. \n\n\nProgram\nSession 1\, chaired by Silvia Sposini\, Imperial College London (UK) \n– 13:00-13:50: Aylin Hanyaloglu\, Imperial College London (UK): “Unravelling GPCR activity at scales & applications to health and disease” \nShort talk selected from abstracts: \n– 13:50-14:10: Marie Lise Jobin\, Université de Bordeaux (Bordeaux\, FR): “Journey into the heart of cannabinoid signaling: membrane lipids and cannabinoid receptors in action” \n– 14:10-14:30: Frédéric Jean-Alphonse\, Université de Tours (Tours\, FR): “LHR and Gαs trafficking drive sustained cAMP signalling from endosomes to control steroidogenesis” \n– 14:30-15:20: Mark von Zastrow\, UCSF (USA): “Exploring the inner life of GPCRs” \n  \n15:20-16:00: Coffee Break \n  \nSession 2\, chaired by David Perrais\, Interdisciplinary Institute for Neuroscience (Bordeaux\, FR) \nShort talk selected from abstracts: \n– 16:00-16:20: Clara Lazzaretti\, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Modena\, IT): “Trafficking of luteinizing hormone receptor directs the differential signal activation between luteinizing hormone and chorionic gonadotropin” \n– 16:20-16:40: Giulia Dematteis\, Neurocentre Magendie (Bordeaux\, FR): “Mitochondrial cannabinoid receptors regulate mitochondria-ER contacts and calcium signaling in astrocytes” \n– 16:40-17:30: Julie Perroy\, IGF (Montpellier\, FR): “Molecular dynamics of the glutamatergic receptosome in synapses and beyond“ \n  \n17:30-18:30: Wine & Cheese \n  \nWith the support of\n                             \n
