SUMMARY:Impromptu seminar - Dragomir Milovanovic
DESCRIPTION:Venue: Centre Broca \nTitle\nInvestigation of membraneless and membrane-bound organelles at the synapse. \nAbout Dragomir Milovanovic\nDragomir Milovanovic is a group leader at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases at the Charité Campus in Berlin. Drago’s lab aims to understand how the spatial organization of organelles and macromolecules is regulated in the crowded environment of the cytosol at the nerve terminal. Specifically\, his team focuses on the role of liquid-liquid phase separation in the selfassembly of synaptic vesicle clusters and the impact of this process on neurotransmission. Drago obtained his Ph.D. at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry (with Reinhard Jahn and Stefan W. Hell) in Göttingen in 2015. Afterward\, as a fellow of the Human Frontiers in Science Program\, Drago did a postdoctoral at the Department of Neuroscience at the Yale School of Medicine (2016-2019) with Pietro De Camilli. Now\, Drago’s lab combines protein biochemistry\, reconstitution approaches\, live-cell imaging\, and neuronal cell biology in scrutinizing the roles of phase separation in neuronal physiology and pathology. \nhttps://www.dzne.de/forschung/forschungsbereiche/grundlagenforschung/forschungsgruppen/milovanovic/forschungsschwerpunkte/ \nInvited by Gregory Giannone \n
