His work aims to improve the recognition of autism\, and to develop new interventions to help autistic people. He has a particular research interest in improving the identification and care of females on the autism spectrum\, who are currently at high risk of going unnoticed and unhelped by clinical and educational services. He also studies subdiagnostic autistic traits in non-clinical populations\, and the role these can play in the development of a range of common childhood\, adolescent and adult mental health problems. With colleagues at Great Ormond Street Hospital’s National Centre for High-Functioning Autism he has developed and trialled interventions to help children with autism transition from primary to secondary school\, and to teach children about their autism diagnosis\, with an emphasis on fostering their sense of self-worth and pride. \nDr Karl Ludin Remnelius/ Pr Sven Bölte\nDr Karl Remnelius is PHD in the K6 Department of Women’s Children’s Health\,  with Pr Sven Bölte. Sven Bölte\, Ph.D.\, who is professor of child and adolescent psychiatric science at the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health\, Karolinska Institutet (KI)\, and senior clinical psychologist at the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry\, Center for Psychiatry Research\, Stockholm County Council\, Sweden. Sven Bölte is director of the KI Centre of Neurodevelopmental Disorders (“KIND”) and has published more than 350 original articles\, reviews\, book chapters. Karl Remnelius and Sven Bölte’s works focuse on eating problems among autistic adolescents and adults with a gender differences approach and explore global  experiences of gender differences in autism. \nPr Meng Chuan LAI\nDr. Meng-Chuan Lai is a psychiatrist and clinician-scientist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and the Hospital for Sick Children\, Toronto. He is an Associate Professor and Co-Chair\, Advisory Council for Equity\, Diversity and Inclusion in Clinical Care in the Department of Psychiatry\, and Graduate Faculty at the Institute of Medical Science and Department of Psychology\, University of Toronto. He is an Honorary Visiting Fellow at the Department of Psychiatry\, University of Cambridge\, and an Adjunct Attending Psychiatrist at the National Taiwan University Hospital. He is an Editor of the journal Autism. As a Canadian Institute of Health Research Sex and Gender Science Chair\, Dr. Lai’s work focuses on how sex- and gender-related factors act as modulatingmechanisms for the presentation and adaptation\, clinical recognition\, neurobiology and aetiologies of neurodevelopmental and co-occurring mental health conditions across the lifespan. \n
